Practice Based Commissioning

The Practice is closely involved with the development and delivery of Practice Based Commissioning.

Dr Simon Goodison is the Locality GP Lead for Eastleigh Southern Parishes Practices and plays an active part in all areas of Practice Based Commissioning.

Since 2006, the Government has been challenging GP practices to become involved with Practice Based Commissioning or PBC. PBC places primary care professionals including GPs, nurses and practice teams at the heart of decision making regarding the commissioning of services.

The Eastleigh Southern Parishes team are in the best position to translate the patient needs into redesigning existing services and creating new services that deliver what local people want.

A regular monthly meeting is held to steer the work of the group, monitor progress of ongoing projects and discuss any local health issues.
