Patient Support Group
Blackthorn Health Centre Patient Support Group is a group of patients who now meet every six weeks to improve communication between patients, the Health Centre and other local groups. It is a working partnership helping to develop mutual interests in accessible, local and quality healthcare.
The Group has been in place for over ten years, but its role has changed with the move to the new Health Centre. It is now more representative of all age groups and each of the villages which the Health Centre serves. It is actively involved in responding to suggestions from patients, such as organising Life Support Training, as well as supporting the Health Centre by the provision and care of books and toys etc. Any registered patient over 18 is welcome to complete a contact details form so that the Group can canvass their opinion on local health issues.
