Flu Vaccinations 2020 Update

Saturday flu clinic appointments are now available to book for this year's flu vaccination for Bursledon Surgery.

We have had many enquiries about flu vaccinations for this year and we would like to reassure our patients that we will be vaccinating as many patients as we can over the course of the next few months.

We are scheduled to receive our vaccinations later this month and will be inviting patients over the coming weeks. However, if you know you are eligible for the flu vaccination this year you can now book your appointment by calling the surgery. We kindly ask that you ring after 10am. If you are not eligible, please do not contact the practice as we will not be able to offer you the vaccination.

Please be assured that we have ordered a larger number of vaccines this year than in previous years. As a result, we would encourage you to have your vaccination with us.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will be running more specific clinics with timed appointments during the week alongside several Saturday clinics. These clinics are open to all, but if you would provide a smaller clinic, please book into one of the weekday appointments. You may be asked to queue differently than normal and we thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.

We would also ask that patients read the following flu advice for this year and share this with friends and family registered at the practice.

If you would like to decline the flu vaccination for this year, details on how to do this can be found on the link above.

Please note, if you are aged 50 to 64 and not in a clinical at-risk group, the earliest you will be offered a flu vaccination is November, providing there is sufficient vaccine. No appointments will be offered for people in this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.
