GP and Nurse Consulting Hours
Please note the practice operates a morning and afternoon Duty appointment system. This is so urgent issues can be dealt with on the same day. However, this service is not a walk-in service so please call the surgery if you wish to speak or see the duty GP on that day. If you require an appointment sooner, please speak to 111 or in an emergency call 999.
Telephone Lines are open as follows:
- 8:00am – 6.30pm Emergencies, making appointments, obtaining results and general enquiries
The phone lines may be closed periodically from 12:30pm – 2:00pm for staff training. During this time, the emergency line is still operational.
Extended Hours
Blackthorn Health Centre offer routine extended hours appointments with Nurses and HealthCare Assistants on the following days, (excluding Bank Holidays).
Tuesdays |
7.30am - 8.00am (HealthCare Assitant and Nurse) |
Thursdays |
7.30am - 8.00am (HealthCare Assitant and Nurse) |
Fridays |
7.30am - 8.00am (HealthCare Assitant and Nurse) |
You are able to make/cancel/attend booked appointments, obtain test results and collect prescriptions from the surgery during the above extended hours times.
Please note extended hours are for pre-booked routine appointments only. Extended Hours do not include emergency appointments. Patients with a genuine emergency will need to contact the out of hours service NHS 111.
