Mrs Paula Kilford
Primary qualifications: NVQ 3
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
I joined the practice in 2004 as a phlebotomist and have recently gained an NVQ 3 in Health Care. I now undertake a variety of duties as well as my original phlebotomy including new patient checks, spirometry and assisting in minor operations.
