TARGET Training

TARGET (which stands for Time for Audit Research Governance Education and Training) is a training scheme that brings our local GPs, Practice Nurses and HealthCare Assistants together twice a year to learn new skills, hear about new treatments and share good practice. All of these things are important in ensuring that the practice staff can do their jobs as effectively as possible.

As a result, Blackthorn Health Centre will close for an afternoon twice a year but we will ensure that medical care will be available when you need it via the out-of-hours service.

On these dates, the practice will be closed for staff training from 1pm and re-open as normal the following day at 8am.
